Copyright and Creative Commons

When creating any content, it is good to follow the laws and procedures that protect our fellow creators. Any content can contain a copyright and be protected. As students beginning to create content for the local community, it is important to follow such rules. By the end of their training, the learners will be well prepared to enter the world of media creation.

This training module is the beginning of my high school AV course during which students create various types of digital media content for the local community. They learn the importance of copyright law, how to read creative commons and the consequences to those who do not follow the rules.

The training module consists of two segments. Each segment contains a video and 4 to 5 questions. The questions range from multiple choice and true-false to matching. Learners must complete the module with at least 80% accuracy. If they fail, they are allowed to retake the entire module until they pass. Upon completion, they will receive a certificate with their name, results and completion date.
